One of my favorite sessions I’ve ever done isn’t exactly new but I thought I’d throw it up on the blog anyway. Back in July, four months before my sister tied the knot, I had the opportunity to shoot her engagement. As you can probably tell from the pictures, Natalie and her husband, Joe, are completely in love and absolutely made for each other. I miss my sister dearly but I’m so excited to spend Christmas with them in Oklahoma. Anyway we shot this session in our hometown of The Woodlands as well as in downtown Houston. Okay, so besides the cookies and the parties and just the general warm spirit everywhere… probably my favorite thing about Christmas? The decorations! When I really got into photography, I fell in love with a little something us photogs call bokeh. As gorgeous as blurred light is any time of year, is it not extra awesome at Christmas? Anyway, I was out with the fam this weekend and couldn’t resist the urge to snap a couple shots of the decorations. There’s not very many because the rest of fam wasn’t as patient to sit in the cold while I tried to get the perfect shot. I may venture out again to take more pics but I’m not exactly a fan of the cold either.

My beautiful sister, Natalie, got married last month. I could not have been more excited for her big day and was so proud to have been her maid of honor. Even though I was too busy in my MOH duties to shoot the wedding, I did take a few shots while she was getting ready. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the afternoon.

Fellow bridesmaid, Kristen… her longtime boyfriend caught the garter at the wedding reception and not long after the wedding they got engaged. Can’t wait for her turn down the aisle!

Finally! I’ve been working on launching the blog for weeks now and despite a few technical difficulties, I am happy to be up and running. Although I recently moved from Los Angeles to North Houston, before I left, I photographed an amazing couple for their engagement session. Kennedy is my former roommate; she and her now husband, Kevin, have such vibrant personalities – I couldn’t wait to capture them on camera. We did the entire shoot at Walt Disney Concert Hall – such a FABULOUS location and even more fabulous weather. Congratulations Kennedy and Kevin, so happy for you both!
